Welcome to Praktijk De Puzzel
In the heart of Retie you will find Praktijk De Puzzel, a warm and safe haven for specialized physical therapy. For many years, we have been supporting children, adolescents, and (expectant) mothers with a deeply rooted passion for their wellbeing.
We believe every child is unique and deserves to grow at their own pace. Our therapy rooms are not designed as clinical waiting rooms, but as colorful, stimulating invitations to play. Here, a child can simply be a child. Therapy becomes a moment to look forward to and a safe environment where, together with parents, we build resilience and self-confidence.

The story of Ann Huysmans
Driven by an immense passion and a heart that beats for children, Ann Huysmans founded Praktijk De Puzzel in 2004. Following her academic degree at KU Leuven — where she subsequently served for three years as a clinical practice assistant at the university — it was clear to Ann from day one: every child is a unique puzzle whose pieces deserve to be placed with love, patience, and expertise.
She dreamed of a practice where children don't feel constrained by 'having to go to therapy', but where they playfully overcome their hurdles. That mission remains the beating heart of our practice today. Ann firmly believes in actively involving parents and schools to build a strong foundation together for every child.
Ann also shares that passion for quality care beyond the practice walls: as co-founder of Education Academy, she and leading instructors train fellow therapists and educational professionals in modern, evidence-based methodologies.

Behind Praktijk De Puzzel stands a dedicated team of passionate and skilled pediatric physical therapists. We collaborate daily, exchange clinical knowledge, and discuss cases so your child benefits from the combined expertise of our entire team.
Despite our individual specializations — ranging from psychomotor therapy and relaxation therapy to touch-typing and neurodiversity — we all share the exact same mission: empowering children to flourish through their own intrinsic motivation and strengths.
Don't expect formal therapists in white coats here, but familiar, smiling faces who sit on the floor with you to make a genuine connection.
